Southwestern LP Fishing Report – June 8th, 2012

Allegan Area

Bluegill fishing has been good on most inland lakes in the area, including Eagle, Duck, Miner, and Scott. Perch are hitting minnows fished in 65 to 85 feet of  water on Lake  Michigan. Crappies have been keeping anglers busy on Muskrat, Big, and Swan lakes.

Kalamazoo Area

Walleye fishermen on the Kalamazoo River are getting some nice fish below the Allegan Dam on crankbaits. A 31-inch, 10-pounder was caught there last week. Bluegills are hitting wax worms and leaf worms on Sugarloaf, Barton, Brandywine, Reynolds, Clear, Saddle, and Three lakes and Lake Brownwood. Northern pike action has been good on Twin, Long, Wolf, Scott, Swan, and Gull lakes. One angler reported catching four pike and a muskie last week on Wolf Lake.
