Northeastern LP Fishing Report – June 8th, 2012

Houghton Lake Area

Walleye fishing has been decent on Houghton Lake. Crawlers and leeches are both taking fish. Bluegills and crappies are hitting in the shallows along the weedbeds. Mayflies are hatching.

Higgins Lake Area

Perch fishing has slowed on Higgins Lake, but a few fish are still being caught along the drop-off. Pike fishing has been good, and trout anglers report they are starting to catch a few rainbows and lakers.

Oscoda Area

Walleye fishing has been good in the AuSable River. Crawlers and crankbaits are both taking fish. Bluegills and sunfish are hitting on VanEtten Lake and Foote Dam Pond. Lake trout and steelhead fishing has been fair on Lake Huron.
