The Department of Natural Resources announced that the Lake Nepessing Boating Access Site in Lapeer County will be closed temporarily between May 9 and May 23 to complete the paving phase of an improvement project that began April 11.

Conservationists are seeing improvements in fish reproduction at Jerry P. Combs Lake, located on Little River Conservation Area (CA) near Kennett. Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) Fisheries Management Biologist Salvador Mondragon reports that after nearly 9,000 largemouth bass were stocked in the lake in fall of 2011, biologists are noticing natural reproduction of the fish.
