Spring Fishing is Here – ON FIRE

Well, sadly, the ice didn't cooperate much this year and it did not stick around for very long into March. But, gladly, with the ice now leaving in most of our port areas and about gone in the rest of the Chequamegon Bay area, the spring fishing has absolutely been on fire. Again our coho numbers are high, and limits of fish have been fairly common and pretty easy to find so far this year. Mix in a good number of smaller, stocked browns trout, along with some very nice splake and the occasional steelhead here and there, and the fishing has been a treat so far.

Oh, I can not forget that some of the deep-water spots are also producing good lake trout fishing, as well – so even better! The shallow-water bite should prove to be good into May again this year. Here is to a great start of the season.
