MT: FWP Seeks Public Comment On Upland Game Bird Program Rule Changes

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking public comment on proposed revisions to the rules that guide Montana’s Upland Game Bird Enhancement Program.

The proposed revisions are needed to implement the new UGBE Program strategic plan endorsed by the FWP Commission in 2011.

“The strategic plan and rule changes are the result of a two-year process that included extensive guidance from a citizen advisory group on how best to retool the program,” said Debbie Hohler, coordinator of FWP’s UGBE Program. “With these refinements to the state statutes, the rules will be in place to carry out the program’s plan for the future.”

The majority of the proposed rule changes fine tune the UBGE Program’s requirements, responsibilities, application and funding processes. Other revisions clarify project renewals, payments, and reporting issues.

The public can review the proposed rule changes on the FWP website under “Submit Public Comments.” Click on Commission and then Public Notices—ARM Rules.
