SD: Lake Sharpe Walleye Length Restriction Back On

PIERRE, S.D. – Anglers targeting walleye on Lake Sharpe and Lake
Francis Case are reminded that the 15-inch minimum length limit
went back into effect on Sept. 1.

The daily limit is four walleyes with a 15-inch minimum for
length limit, of which one may be greater than 20 inches in
length.

Since the boating closures have lifted, anglers have been
hitting the water to fish. With changes to the river channel from
high releases throughout the reservoir system this summer, boaters
should use caution when navigating the waters. Sandbars and
submerged hazards have shifted and present boating challenges.

Fishing reports for many waters of the state can be viewed
online at
http://gfp.sd.gov/agency/hunting-fishing-reports/default.aspx.

Fishing regulations can be viewed in the Fishing Handbook,
available from retail license agents, GFP offices and in PDF format
on the GFP website. Anglers with questions concerning regulations
may contact their local GFP office.
