DENVER — Colorado Parks and Wildlife will hold a public meeting
to gather input on the PH-35 pronghorn herd which includes portions
of Adams, Arapahoe, Douglas, and Elbert counties. Pronghorn
population and composition objectives and any other issues of
concern regarding pronghorn management in Game Management Units
(GMUs) 104 and 105 will be discussed. The Byers meeting will be
held from 6:00-8:00 pm., August 18 at the Quint Valley Fairgrounds,
610 N Hwy 36 in Byers.
“Colorado Parks and Wildlife is eager to gather input from
landowners, outdoor enthusiasts, and hunters to help us gauge the
size of these herds and direct population and sex ratio objectives
for a ten-year management plan,” said biologist Heather Halbritter.
“Recent developments in survey techniques for pronghorn have
resulted in improved population estimates and we would appreciate
any feedback from the public regarding pronghorn management in
