Louisiana’s Greater Amberjack Seasons Set

Today the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF)
announced the 2011 seasons for the commercial and recreational
harvest of greater amberjack. LDWF Secretary Robert Barham set the
seasons to coincide with federal seasons issued by the National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Commercial Greater Amberjack Season

The commercial fishery for greater amberjack in Louisiana waters
will close at 12:01 a.m. on June 18, 2011 and will remain closed
until 12:01 a.m. January 1, 2012.

Recreational Greater Amberjack Season

The 2011 recreational season for greater amberjack will close for a
two month period beginning June 1 and reopening August 1.
