Sioux Falls, S.D. (AP) – Authorities made 170 arrests for
hunting and fishing violations in the past year because of
information provided through a tip line.
The Turn In Poachers program administered by the Game, Fish and
Parks Department offers rewards for information provided by phone
or online.
TIPs provided $6,545 in reward money in the 12 months ending
June 30. Violators paid $37,900 in court fines and civil
penalties.
Since its start in 1985, the TIPs program has resulted in 3,120
arrests.
