Possible plea change in 2007 Vt hunting death case

Burlington, Vt. (AP) – Court papers show a Georgia man who
pleaded not guilty to fatally shooting a hunting companion in 2007
may end up taking a plea bargain, avoiding trial.

Thirty-nine-year-old Timothy Madden was scheduled to go to trial
in October. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the
death of 43-year-old David Jenkins of Milton. Madden said he
mistook him for a coyote.

WCAX reports court papers show a change of plea hearing has been
scheduled for Friday.

Madden rejected an initial plea deal in June.
