Neb. accepting applications for bighorn sheep hunt

Lincoln, Neb. (AP) – Nebraska hunters wanting a shot at bringing
down a bighorn sheep have until Aug. 7 to apply for the 2009
bighorn sheep hunting lottery.

The lottery is open only to state residents who will be at least
12-years-old by the date the season opens.

One bighorn sheep permit will be issued for the season, which
runs from Dec. 1-22.

It costs $25 to apply, and the fee is nonrefundable.
Applications must be received by the Nebraska Game and Parks
Commission’s headquarters in Lincoln by 5 p.m. on Aug. 7. Online
applications must be submitted before midnight.

The drawing will take place at the Aug. 28 meeting of the
Nebraska Game and Parks Board of Commissioners.
