Lake Winnebago Area

There was still some ice on the lakes last week, but nothing
that could support a person. Instead, anglers switched over to the
rivers. The Fox River in Oshkosh was open from the Hwy. 41 bridge
to the mouth, and the Wolf River was up to Winneconne. A few other
spots were open on the Wolf at Fremont, Weyauwega, and at the
Eureka dam area. Anglers were fishing all of the open spots. Eureka
had been off and on, but when it was on, it was on, and it sounds
like it’s been pretty crowded. On the good days, anglers reported
limits in half an hour. Anglers have been catching walleyes off of
the bridges in Oshkosh and Winneconne. Perch have been caught at
Eureka, too.
