Pike fishing has been good in Lake Huron, with anglers reporting
fish at Cedarville, Hessel, and Muskie Bay. Spoons and spinnerbaits
fished in the shallows have been producing good results. Perch
fishing has slowed, but smallmouth bass fishing is heating up.

Drummond Island Area
Pike fishing has been very good in Maxton, Whitney, and Pike
bay. Live bait fished in 6 to 10 feet of water has produced well.
Walleye fishing has been good in Scotts and Maxton bays. Crawler
harnesses have been producing the best results. Bass fishing also
has been good, but perch fishing has been slow.

Sault Ste. Marie Area
Cold weather has kept water temperatures down, and the fishing
has been fair around Sault Ste. Marie. Walleyes and pike are
hitting in the St. Marys River. A fair number of whitefish also are
being caught in the upper river.

Walleye fishing is picking up on Big Manistique Lake where the
water temperature is still running in the 50s. Bass, pike, and a
few bluegills are being caught on South Manistique Lake. Mushroom
hunters are finding a few white morels.
