Traverse City Area
Windy weather has slowed fishing around Traverse City. Anglers
who are venturing out are catching perch on Crystal Lake in 50 to
60 feet of water. There are still some good steelhead in the
Boardman River where anglers are catching fish on spawn and flies.
Deer hunting tapered off with the high winds. The firearms season

Steelhead fishing has been slow off the piers and in the surf on
Lake Michigan. A few whitefish are still being caught. A few
steelies are being caught in the lower Manistee River but low water
levels have made fishing tough. The firearms deer season was

The firearms deer season was fair and hunter pressure seemed to
be light in Wexford County. A few decent bucks were taken. Fishing
has been slow and pressure light with high winds keeping river
anglers indoors. Ice is forming on lakes Cadillac and Mitchell.

Fishing has come to a standstill on area lakes, but ice is
beginning to form. The firearms deer season was less than average.
A few decent bucks were taken, but overall success and hunter
pressure were both on the downside.
