Grayling Area

Perch fishing has been good on Lake Margrethe. Anglers fishing
minnows in 18 feet of water report an excellent bite. Bowhunters
enjoyed a good early season and saw lots of bucks.

Houghton Lake Area

Walleye anglers are catching fish from shore at night on
Houghton Lake. Smallmouth bass and pike are hitting during daylight
hours. Firearms deer season should be decent.

Higgins Lake Area

Brown trout are finally moving into the shallows on Higgins Lake
and anglers long-lining report a good bite. Deer hunting has been
fair.

Oscoda Area

A few walleyes have been caught in Lake Huron by anglers fishing
from the piers at night. Whitefish are starting to show up, and
anglers fishing single salmon eggs are catching a few fish.
Steelhead fishing has been decent in the Au Sable River.

Whitefish are starting to show up in Lake Huron’s Tawas Bay.
Firearms deer season should be good.
