St. Joseph Area

Fishing has been slow on Lake Michigan. The best action has been
coming to pier anglers who are catching a few whitefish. There are
steelhead in the St. Joseph River, but the bite has been fair at
best. Deer hunting has been good and is improving. Bucks are
chasing does. Waterfowl hunting has been fair.

Union Area

Panfish action has been decent on Long Lake and Clear Lake with
most fish holding right on bottom. Turkey hunting has been good.
Archery deer season has been good and is improving. Bucks are on
the move.

Holland Area

Bluegill fishing has been pretty good on Lake Macatawa. Anglers
report catching fish at Verplank’s dock and at Dutton Park. Deer
hunting has been slow, but should improve now that the rut is on.
Duck hunting has been pretty good and should improve with some
cold, wet weather. Turkey hunting has been fair.
