Rivers were clear at fishable earlier this month, and the crowds
were long gone. That said, anglers were still connecting on a few
trout that were falling to BWOs, Caddis, a variety of nymphs and
streamers. Water temperatures were beginning to dip into the high
40s; keep in mind the Neversink is now closed. The Beaverkill and
Willowemoc may offer some good fishing, along with the Esopus (if
the water is clear) and the West Branch, East Branch and main stem
of the Delaware.
