Crappies are biting in 15 feet of water on cool, cloudy days. If
it’s bright out and the water warms, the fish move shallow. White
Bear Lake, Big Marine Lake, and the St. Croix River have provided
the best numbers. Sunfish reports have been limited to these same
lakes, but most fish have been small.

Auburn. The fish still cruising the shallows have been small.

feet of water.

The outside weed edges in Waconia Bay are holding nice crappies
in eight to 10 feet of water. You’ll also find crappies in shallow
water of Waconia bay, but they haven’t been as nice. The reeds on
the north end of the lake are producing sunfish in six to eight
feet of water. Look to small leeches.
