St. Paul DNR wildlife managers would like to discuss Zone 1 realignment west of Highways 71 and 72 with hunters and landowners at a public input meeting on Mar. 29 in Blackduck.

The proposal involves realigning Zone 1 to include Permit Areas 283 and 284, according to Steve Caron, area wildlife supervisor in Bemidji. The proposed change would lengthen the firearms hunting season to 16 days in those permit areas, which currently have a nine-day season. St. Cloud, Minn. The 8th Annual Waterfowl Symposium will be held at the Radisson Hotel in St. Cloud, April 8-10. The theme this year is: “Intensive Management of Waterfowl Habitats and Populations What Can You Do To Help?”
