Madelia, Minn. DNR researchers in southern Minnesota soon will be soaring above the terrain, counting deer, according to Bob Osborn, DNR wildlife research biologist in Madelia.

This winter, the department hopes to conduct aerial surveys of permit areas 342, 347, and 349, which includes Fillmore, Houston, and Wabasha counties. Minneapolis The Minneapolis Boat Show continues this week through Jan. 23 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Don’t miss the many seminar speakers along with everything in boating, from antiques to the latest in pontoons, speed boats, and fishing rigs.

Show hours are 5-10 p.m. on Wednesday; noon to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $9 for adults, $4 for children ages 5-11, and free for children under age 5.
