Tower, Minn. The Minnesota DNR’s Tower fisheries office has announced the opening of whitefish/cisco netting on Bear Island and Ely lakes in St. Louis County and Ojibway Lake in Lake County.

The opening date was Nov. 25, and the closing date is Sunday, Dec. 26. A whitefish netting license is required. Several other regulations apply and can be found on the DNR’s web site at www.dnr.state.mn.us under “fishing regulations.” For more information, call the DNR fisheries office in Tower at (218) 753-2580, ext. 221.
