Winona, Minn. An overabundance of deer at Great River Bluffs State Park near Winona and a low number of requests for special hunt permits for the park has prompted the DNR to extend the availability of special hunt permits to any hunters who have valid 3

Park manager John Wilzbacher said 100 permits for the
antlerless-only hunt were made available, but as of last week,
fewer than 20 hunters obtained one for the special hunt. The hunt
will be held Nov. 20-22 and Nov. 26-28.

If you have a valid 3B license, you may request a permit at the
park headquarters from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by calling (507)
643-6849. You also may write the park at: Great River Bluffs State
Park, 43605 Kipp Drive, Winona, MN 55987. A state park vehicle
permit is required if hunters use their vehicles within the
park.
