A total of 185,000 permits were available for the Wisconsin spring turkey season in 43 turkey management zones and 12 state parks. More than 26,000 hunters received second permits. Minnesota set a new turkey harvest record this spring by killing about 8,300 birds. The state’s estimated turkey population is about 50,000 birds.
