Minnesota’s “Build a Wildlife Area” partnership will dedicate a new 318-acre addition to the existing 400-acre Mud Lake State Wildlife Management Area this Friday, June 25. The WMA is located in Morrison County near Little Falls.

As part of the dedication, the partnership will turn over the
land to the Minnesota DNR, thus opening the land to public hunting
and recreation. The purchase is the result of a two-month-long
fund-raising campaign by Pheasants Forever, Outdoor News, and Game
Fair.

During the five-week campaign, the partnership raised over
$50,000 through individual and corporate donations. That money was
matched by state and federal dollars to reach over $150,000. For
more information on the dedication ceremony, call Karlene Carlson
of PF at (651) 773-2000.
