Watson, Minn. A few things have changed for Lac qui Parle-area goose hunters this year, but it appears one thing has not the best goose hunting will come later in the season.

The “harvest index” was eliminated for the controlled hunting zone this year, so the DNR isn’t counting birds. The season for the West-Central Zone is shorter than the rest of the state, this year running Oct. 11-Nov. 19. The daily limit is one Canada goose; the possession limit is two.
