St. Paul The Minnesota DNR reminds hunters not to mistake a trumpeter swan for a Canada goose during the September early goose hunt that began last weekend. Fines for shooting these swans can be up to $700, with possible confiscation of shotguns and rest

Swans are three to four times the size of Canada geese, according to Steve Kittelson, DNR trumpeter swan restoration leader.
