Bloomington, Minn. A waterfowl hunting training program for youth ages 12-16 will be offered twice in September at the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Minnesota Waterfowl Association are sponsors.

The course, offered 6:30 to 9 p.m., Sept. 3, 5, 10, and 12 at the refuge visitor center, will include a “field day,” Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Lakeville. A hunt will take place Sept. 14. To make a student reservation, to serve as a mentor,

Prior Lake, Minn. The 6th Annual Les Kouba/Jimmy Robinson Memorial Shoot is scheduled for Aug. 14 at the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club in Prior Lake.

For an individual or group participant, entry includes shells, shooting, and dinner. Participants must bring shotguns and hearing/eye protection. There also will be an auction and awards presentation. Proceeds from the event go to Minnesota’s Turn-in-Poachers program. To register as a team or group, call TIP at (651) 406-9111. TIP is a private, non-profit organization.
