Des Moines, Iowa Reports indicate snow geese started moving into the Riverton Wildlife Area in southwest Iowa in mid-February and are moving north as the snow cover and open water allow.

Hunting of the geese in Iowa is allowed under a U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service conservation order. Hunters may take up to 20 per
day with no possession limit.
