Des Moines, Iowa Reports indicate snow geese started moving into the Riverton Wildlife Area in southwest Iowa in mid-February and are moving north as the snow cover and open water allow.

Hunting of the geese in Iowa is allowed under a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service conservation order. Hunters may take up to 20 per day with no possession limit. Information on snow goose movement through Iowa can be found on the web site: www.state.ia.us/wildlife. Or call (712) 374-2510 for goose reports in the Riverton area.
