Smalley, who has been the boating safety specialist for the DNR
since 1984, has made a mark on boating safety, not only in
Minnesota, but nationally and even in Canada.

“Tim’s expertise has been tapped over the years by various water
safety organizations,” said Kim Elverum, DNR Boat and Water Safety
Program administrator. “I was proud to see that he received this
well-deserved recognition.”
