Savanna Park employees began clearing snowmobile trails covered
by trees and root balls three weeks ago when streams and ponds in
the park froze allowing equipment to reach the remote areas. The
snowmobile trails were covered in a wind storm on Aug. 18. Many of
the east-west snowmobile trails through the park were inaccessible
with trees tangled in piles up to six feet high.
All 60 miles of snowmobile trails and 30 miles of ski trails
should be ready within two weeks.
