McGregor, Minn. With the onset of winter, it’s time to close the Wildlife Drive on the Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge in central Minnesota. The main entrance road will continue to be plowed to Mandy Lake to provide access to cross country ski trails

Fishing shelters are allowed on Mandy Lake, but must be removed at the end of each day. ATVs, snowmobiles, cars and trucks are not permitted to cross over or travel on refuge lands.

The Minnesota DNR is again offering adult level training for all types of game hunting in Minnesota and the Midwest.

Jan. 16: A series of seven classes will be held on Tuesday evenings, at the Hastings Police Department Training room, from 6-9 p.m. A bow hunter certification class will offered in an eighth session.
