DNR-led and co-sponsored events such as naturalist activities, education programs, Friends hikes and candlelight events are now permitted for up to 350 people as long as events are outdoors.
Nonpartisan policy think tank: State and local officials should consider increasing investments on parks, public lands, boat ramps and other green space to handle the higher demand.
The DNR said it pulled in more than $15 million from vehicle admission fees and trail passes from January through August. That’s a 21% increase from the same period in 2019.
