Although ice was only beginning to form on lakes in northern parts of the state, plenty of good fishing has been occurring, especially for walleyes.
Late November, as usual, was a time to catch big fish. An angler claimed to catch a 14.5-pound, 32.5-inch walleye in French Creek at dusk one recent evening. And that wasn’t the only lunker.
Trout fishing has been pretty good in most waters in recent weeks with stable conditions in the absence of storms.
The autumn walleye bite kicked in big time in western waters of the state in recent weeks.
Slightly cooler waters seem to have awakened bass’ appetites everywhere.
