Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn. Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.

Jigging one line and using a live minnow on the second line is the way to go. Green, glow red, pink and gold were good colors this week.

Great reports of pike up to the mid-40-inch variety being caught using tip-ups with live suckers or dead bait such as smelt and herring in 8 to 14 feet of water.
