Piedmont Lake

Anglers are doing well in the Western Basin for this “Lake Erie Gold” species.

The bite for saugeyes, walleyes, crappies, and muskies on inland waters is going fairly well right now.

On Lake Erie, fishermen continue to produce walleye limits in both the Western and Central Basins quite regularly. Some of these walleyes are going better than 30 inches.

The walleye bite on Lake Erie has returned to its normal excellence after a series of big storms on the lake shut things down for a period. As a bonus, the world-class smallmouth bass fishing has been terrific, too.

Walleye limits have been standard in the Western and Central Basins with most anglers trolling crankbaits or casting worm harnesses.

On inland waters, about every lake in the state that holds crappies is offering good fishing right now.

Crappie fishing has been good to very good all across the state with anglers using a variety of offerings from small swimbaits to minnow rigs to pick up fish.
