Observers recorded five broods and 39 pheasants per 100 miles. Sharptails observed per 100 miles are up 113% statewide from 2018, and partridge are up 58%.
Pheasant and partridge numbers similar to last year, according to roadside surveys.
Numbers increased in every nine-county region except northwest, where it was similar to last year. The survey counted a state average of 21 birds per 30 mile route, which translates to a statewide harvest estimate
