Devils Lake is probably the best walleye fishery this side of Lake of the Woods, and it’s amazing how many walleyes are in so many different locations.
With so much water, one day is not enough to pursue the variety of species this area has to offer, much less the beauty of the trip itself.
Anglers are running deep for walleyes, lake trout and salmon just about anywhere these fish are targeted right now. Bass also are being found in somewhat deeper water, or in shady spots.
Weedlines remain a major producer for all fish species and the general rule is that you’ll find bigger panfish, pike, and bass on deep vegetation.
Water temperatures remain in the low 80s across a good part of the state. As a result, fish being found in deeper water.
