Anglers can enjoy a variety of species, from bass and walleye to trout and salmon. The most active changes almost daily.

At the top of the list on this fishery is king salmon, and it’s been good to very good this past week for both shore anglers and those drifting from boats.

Bass fishing has been good throughout the river using live bait.

As predicted, the salmon run in the lower Niagara River is on.

The Northeast winds and cooler temperatures were just what was needed to jumpstart the salmon run on the lower Niagara River.

Walleye and bass action has been good to very good all over the river and on the Niagara Bar.

Walleye action also continues to be good to very good for both good numbers and size the entire length of the river.

The best walleye action is reportedly on the Niagara Bar, with fish up to 12.5 pounds being taken recently.

It sounds like a broken record, but the lower Niagara River is still producing good action for both walleye and smallmouth bass.
