Streams like the Salmon River in Pulaski should start cranking up soon, and east Lake Ontario will also be a hot-spot in the coming weeks.

Anglers are still catching plenty of bass and pike.

Bass and pike fishing (along with chasing walleyes and muskies wherever possible) continue to be hot pursuits.

It’s fishing tournament time, and anglers can learn techniques and fishing strategies from tournament pros.

The days are already starting to get shorter, but July (and August) usually mean hot weather and hot bass fishing, too.

Out on the bigger lakes, the salmon and lake trout fishing should be productive.

Anglers targeting walleyes, pike and muskies (especially in the Great Lakes) are just getting started.

By now the trout stocking trucks and choppers should have made their runs and usually when the black flies are biting, so are the trout.

Brook trout anglers, especially those who head for backcountry ponds, such as those in the Adirondacks and Catskills, should also be enjoying some action.
