A second and final closure of open-water walleye fishing runs through Nov. 30 on the central Minnesota lake.
State will then allow for an additional 11,000 pounds of walleye harvest through Labor Day weekend, after which walleye fishing will be closed through Nov. 30.
Nearby resort owners question the department’s low population assessment of the fish.
