It’s a unique lake, deep and cold enough to support cool water species such as trout and tullibees, and there’s a warm water component that allows walleyes, pike, bass, and panfish to coexist.

If you use the lightest jig possible, spinning tackle is the way to go. Light line and light tubes can put more fish in the boat.

Fishing action is heating up across the state with anglers reporting very good bites from walleye, pike, panfish and bass, as well as trout and salmon.

There are three southeast lakes where big largemouths can be nailed, if you know how to swing the hammer.

You’ll also catch saugeyes, channel and flathead catfish, crappies, and some bluegills in this unique, river-like lake that zigs and zags across 421 acres in parts of two counties in southeast Ohio.

Walleye limits on Lake Erie continue to be a regular occurrence, and the shoreline night bite for walleyes all along the north coast continues to be solid.

Bass fishing has been great in many waters in recent weeks. Crappie fishing has been pretty decent as of late on many waters, too.

With water temperatures now hovering in the mid-60s, the bite has been solid across the board/state.
