Average size of Lake Sakakawea female salmon was 6 pounds, and once again there was an abundance of young male salmon, which typically forecasts a good run the next couple years.
Extent of the outbreak won’t be known until a summer smelt population survey, but Game and Fish isn’t overly worried.

Last fall’s egg take was excellent, exceeding the goal of raising 400,000 salmon for stocking purposes.
