Seems like a rain storm or two popped up somewhere in the state most every day in July, and downpours were common. But the bass fishing stayed consistently good most places
Catfishing has been hot at Octoraro, and in the Delaware, Allegheny, Monongahela and Susquehanna rivers.
Despite heavy rainstorms making some streams muddy and temporarily unproductive, smallmouth bass fishing was reported to be excellent in many streams in recent weeks.

Walleyes were reportedly biting in Pymatuning and Shenango reservoirs, and lakes Kahle, Arthur, Beltzville, Blue Marsh, Frances Slocum, Glendale and Gordon.
Panfishing – mainly perch and crappies – was said to be good on a number of waters
