The National Veterinary Laboratory confirmed that a 15-year-old whitetail doe and a 2-year-old elk cow tested positive.
The Mineral Point farm has been quarantined but reportedly is still open because properly handled dead animals leaving the premises do not pose a risk of spreading the disease.
The two deer had ear tags, are likely captive-herd escapees.
