At least three bears reportedly responsible for more than 150 incident reports in the region straddling Northern California and Nevada.
This is the farthest south in California that any gray wolf has been documented since one was captured in San Bernardino County in 1922.
If the wolves are able to start a new family, it will be only the third known pack spotted in Northern California since the species went extinct there in 1924.
