The entire state offers a lifetime of wild trout angling. Pennsylvania is blessed with a wealth of wild trout water.

Water temperatures started jumping quite a bit and that’s brought about some bug hatches on many lakes. That’s resulted in more anglers turning to live-bait or spinner rigs and nightcrawlers as their bait of choice

As the official start of summer nears, action heating up in fisheries across the state.

Stick to the basic elements of mimicry – that is, size, shape, color and the added value of inherent movement.

As the transition from spring to summer occurs, catch-and-release trout fishermen should take a little extra care in returning their ever-so-sought-after prize to the waters in which they reside.

Biologists collected 1,268 fish representing 18 species in the 2017 survey.

Bluegill are starting to spawn in many lakes and ponds across the state. And with water temperatures now well into the 70s, the bite is both turning on and slowing, depending on the targeted species.
