Presented by Outdoor News & The Michigan Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation

The Outdoor News and NWTF present the Best Turkey Photo Contest — offering great prizes and awards to 9 winners, plus five weekly winners!

This is a photo contest. Our judges will be evaluating and subjectively rating the harvested turkey photos based on the following criteria: photo quality, composition, clarity, and adherence to rules and photo guidance below.

The contest is for either archery or firearms.

Make sure that everyone in your hunting party carries a camera this turkey hunting season. Photos of every legally harvested wild turkey have a chance to win!

Rules
• 9 winner will be selected, and weekly winners will be announced every 2 weeks in Michigan Outdoor News, starting April 25th and concluding June 20, 2025
• Open to Michigan residents only
• High quality color photos only (print or digital)
• Entrants must be licensed turkey hunters
• One turkey and one person in photo
• Entries accepted on official entry form, photocopy or online
• Entries may also be used in other Outdoor News promotions
• Name, address, and phone number must be written on the back of physical photo submitted § Mail entries to Best Turkey Photo Contest, Michigan Outdoor News, PO Box 199. Lake Orion, MI 48362
• Person in photo the same as the one who harvested the turkey
• Winners will be named in an issue of Outdoor News after contest conclusion on June 13, 2025

Photo Guidance
• The deadline for when entries shall be received is June 13, 2025, and the final winner will be announced in July.
• When applicable, use a flash to remove shadows
• Take photo in the field before field dressing
• Take photo in a close-up manner
• Have weapon in photo (in a safe manner)
• Wear legal hunting clothes
• Clean up visible blood and make sure the turkey you harvested looks presentable
• No sunglasses, beer cans or tobacco products in the photo being submitted for consideration
• No date imprint can be visible on the photo
