Wildlife biologists from the DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife have been investigating recent reports of sick or dead deer to determine if the cause is epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD).

The 2012 early migratory bird season dates have been submitted to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service by the Indiana DNR as listed below.

DNR will be offering put-and-take hunting for ring-necked pheasants from Nov. 17-25.

The Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks approved the dates and bag limits for the 2012-2013 waterfowl hunting seasons at its August 15 meeting in Jackson.

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will hold a free “Hunting 101- Introduction to Deer Hunting” clinic on Sept. 6, from 6-9 p.m., at its Centennial Campus Center for Wildlife Education in Raleigh.

Vermont’s 2012 migratory bird hunting season dates, including waterfowl and woodcock seasons, are posted on the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department website (www.vtfishandwildlife.com).

Dove hunting season is fast approaching, and this year sportsmen have no excuse for not inviting someone along with them thanks to Oklahoma’s annual Free Hunting Days Sept. 1-2.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department’s Private Land Open To Sportsmen Guide for 2012 is now available online at the Department’s website, gf.nd.gov. In addition, PLOTS Guides will be available at most license vendors
