OFFICIAL RULES – NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN

ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal residents of the United States (excluding residents of New York, Rhode Island, Florida, and any other states where prohibited by law or requiring registration of sweepstakes) who are 21 years of age or older at time of entry. Employees of Outdoor News, Outdoors International, Rapala VMC, Whitewater Fishing, and their immediate family members are not eligible.

HOW TO ENTER: Enter ONLY online at OutdoorNews.com/GetawayGiveaway between March 24, 2025 and May 8, 2025. Limit one entry per person/email address. All entries must be received by 11:59 PM CT on May 8, 2025. Mail-in, email, or other forms of entry will not be accepted. One entry per participant. Duplicate entries will be removed. Duplicates will be determined by email addresses as the unique identifiers. Purchase does not increase your odds of winning.

PRIZES:

Grand Prize (1): Trip for two (2) to Mexico for sailfish fishing, including:

• Economy roundtrip airfare for two (2) provided by Whitewater Fishing (ARV): $2,000
• Ground transportation
• Guided fishing experience provided by Outdoors International
• 4 nights of accommodations at Remote Offshore Fishing Lodge in Puerto Vicente, located 50 nautical miles south of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo on Mexico’s Costa Grande Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $3,000
• Runner-Up Prizes (5): Rapala prize packs ARV: $250 each
• 3rd Place Prizes (8): Whitewater branded merchandise: ARV $64.38 each

PRIZE DETAILS – MEXICO REMOTE OFFSHORE FISHING LODGE:

• Located at Puerto Vicente, 50 nautical miles south of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo on Mexico’s Costa Grande – ranked #2 in the World for Sailfishing by Sport Fishing Magazine.
• 4 nights of accommodations in a private guest room, within a seven-room adobe lodge. Your private guest room will have its own private bathroom and air conditioning. Lodge features a small outdoor pool, landscaped gardens, common area with hammock and patio, and is conveniently located near a soft-sand beach with palapas for shade.
• All meals and non-alcoholic drinks included (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) 
• Guided fishing experience includes:
• Includes multiple days offshore fishing for Sailfish, Dorado and other species 
• One day of inshore fishing for Roosterfish 
• Fishing in pairs in a Panga (small motor boat) with a Captain and helper – Approximately 8 hours of fishing per day 
• Offshore species available include: Pacific Sailfish, Black Marlin, Dorado (Mahi-mahi), Yellowfin Tuna, and Wahoo 
• Inshore species available include: Roosterfish, Jacks, Spanish Mackerel, and Snook
• Prize does not include: alcohol, trip insurance, or gratuities (recommended: $40 per boat per day and $50 per staff member)

WINNER SELECTION: Winners will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries on or about May 22, 2025. Winners will be notified by email within 5 business days of selection. If a potential winner does not respond within 5 days of being contacted, they will forfeit the prize and an alternate winner will be selected at random from the remaining eligible entries. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received. Prizes will be awarded within 30 days after winner verification is complete.

PRIZE CONDITIONS: No substitution or transfer of prize permitted. Prize is non-refundable and no cash alternative is available. All winners must be 21 years of age or older. Grand Prize must be scheduled for fulfillment within six (6) months of winner selection, subject to reasonable accommodation of winner’s schedule and seasonal considerations.

Accommodations will be made by the sponsor. All travel and prizes must be claimed/redeemed within six (6) months of notification. Blackout dates may apply.

TAX LIABILITY: All federal, state, and local taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. The value of any prize awarded to a winner may be reported for tax purposes as required by law. Grand Prize winner will be required to provide a valid Social Security number and will receive an IRS Form 1099-MISC reflecting the actual retail value of the prize. Sponsors may withhold taxes from any award as required by law. Winners may be required to submit valid identification and/or tax information before receiving their prize. Failure to provide accurate information or to pay any required withholdings may result in forfeiture of the prize. The value reported for tax purposes may differ from the winner’s own perception of the prize value.

VERIFICATION PROCESS: Verification process will be the responsibility of the winner and Outdoors International and Whitewater Fishing, the parties providing the airfare for 2 and ground transport. Winners may be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release and present valid government-issued photo identification.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Grand Prize winner and travel companion are responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents (including valid passports, visas, etc.) prior to travel. Failure to obtain required travel documents in advance of the trip will result in prize forfeiture with no compensation provided. It is the responsibility of the entrants/winners to abide by all local laws, including those of the United States and Mexico.

FORCE MAJEURE: Outdoor News and Sponsors reserve the right to delay, postpone, or cancel the sweepstakes if, in their sole discretion, circumstances beyond their reasonable control prevent the sweepstakes from being conducted as planned, including but not limited to pandemic, natural disaster, civil unrest, or technological failures. In such case, Sponsors reserve the right to award the prizes in a manner deemed fair and appropriate.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By participating, entrants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless Outdoor News, Outdoors International, Rapala VMC, Whitewater Fishing, and their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents from and against any claims, damages, disability, attorney’s fees, and costs of litigation and settlement, as well as any liability due to any injuries, damages or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the sweepstakes or from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize. Outdoor News is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the sweepstakes, or in the announcement of the prizes. Outdoor News is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, incomplete, illegible, faulty, or incorrect transmissions, incorrect announcements of any kind, technical hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission that may limit a user’s ability to participate in the sweepstakes.

MARKETING CONSENT: By entering this sweepstakes, entrants agree to receive marketing emails from all four sponsoring organizations (Outdoor News, Outdoors International, Rapala VMC, and Whitewater Fishing). Entrants may opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in each marketing email.

DATA PRIVACY: Data will be retained indefinitely until a participant opts-out of marketing communications. Data will be shared among sweepstakes sponsors only and not provided to any other organizations for any means. Governing law on data privacy will prevail, and participants retain all rights granted to them under applicable data privacy laws.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION: Except where prohibited, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. Any legal proceedings arising out of this sweepstakes or relating to these Official Rules shall be instituted only in the federal or state courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota, and entrants consent to jurisdiction therein.

LEGAL COMPLIANCE: Should any of these rules or regulations conflict with applicable law, the conflicting provisions shall be deemed null and void, and the applicable law shall prevail. All other provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
