Lake Erie yellow perch fishing continues to go strong a little bit earlier than the usual good fall bite. Walleye trollers on the big lake continue to do well.
Offshore continues to be the best, but we had to make some subtle tweaks to catch our better fish. The weather conditions played a small role but it was productive once small changes were made.
“Tackle” Terry Tuma suggests using a bait-casting reel with 10-pound fluorocarbon line and using live bait rigs with nightcrawlers or leeches.
There are a select few retrieves that actually catch fish of all species in almost any conditions. Here are a few that work and how to replicate them.
The walleye bite is starting to come around after last week’s heavy rainfall. It seems like the bigger fish are being caught snap-jigging, but other presentations are still producing some nice ‘eyes, too.
Some good smallmouth fishing in this area, with crappie fishing starting to perk up.
